BALLROOM DANCING ChannelS their energy

You may be wondering what is the best way to channel your kids seemingly boundless energy. While traditional team sports are a good way to get your kids physically active, they may not be right for all children. Ballroom dance classes are a great alternative to team sports, and most ballroom dance studios offer lessons for children as young as four or five. Participating in dance classes can be beneficial for kids of all ages. Ballroom dance is one of the most comprehensive lifestyle exercise programs available to children, incorporating strength, flexibility, speed, balance, coordination, power, and discipline. Whether they are involved in recreational dance or with a competitive, skills learned in ballroom dance can benefit a child’s overall development

Commitment and Ballroom Dancing

The challenging nature of dance requires commitment and concentration. The structure of a ballroom dance lesson teaches children how hard work and dedication pays off. Positive experiences in either latin or ballroom can build confidence through achievement, and illustrates to children that commitment to sport benefits them. Rules and codes of conduct in ballroom dance class help children learn the importance of rules for behavior, and teach respect toward others.

Keeping it fun

It’s important to encourage your child and find activities they enjoy. This way your child will not find the activity as a chore and they are more likely to stick at it. Our “Image Ballroom Dance Youth Program” is geared towards kids and youth ballroom dance students, and focuses on creative ways to incorporate exercise into our children’s everyday routine by giving them small homework task that they can perform at home to keep them active even on the days they are not at the dance studio. The homework consist of few fun “dance drills” they can perform on their favorite dane music without having to use any special equipment or going to the dance studio. Kids enjoy having the authority to choose their own dance music and be part of the creative process. Our efforts are to encourage our children to exercise more and instill in them the wisdom of a healthy lifestyle will yield years of dividends in these young people’s lives.
